Turquoise Community: Give captures a moment of generosity, care, and connection through gesture and color. A seated figure offers support to a child, creating a quiet exchange that reflects giving as both physical presence and emotional intention.

As part of the Turquoise Community series, this work explores how connection is built through acts of care and shared understanding. As a Deaf artist, I express these ideas through visual language—using gesture, contrast, and composition to communicate meaning without sound. The interaction between the figures reflects a sense of trust, where giving becomes an extension of identity and awareness.

The composition transitions from a structured gray background into layered fields of color, creating a movement from distance to intimacy. Pink introduces love and compassion, while orange brings energy and vitality. Black and white elements provide grounding and clarity, allowing the figures to hold presence with confidence.

The turquoise gloves remain a defining symbol within the series, representing protection, awareness, and the importance of language and identity. They emphasize that giving begins with understanding oneself and extends outward through connection with others.
