Breeze at La Jolla presents a coastal vista from the northern edge of La Jolla Shores, where atmosphere, light, and landscape come together in a moment of quiet movement.
Set against a vibrant sunset, the composition captures the shifting colors of the sky as they settle across the horizon. Palm trees line the shoreline, their forms gently angled as if shaped by the coastal breeze, introducing a subtle sense of motion within an otherwise calm setting.
As a Deaf artist, I approach this work through visual language—focusing on how color, alignment, and spatial balance create a sensory experience beyond sound. The breeze is not heard but seen, carried through the positioning of forms and the rhythm of the composition.
The scene holds a balance between energy and stillness. While the sky carries warmth and intensity, the grounded beach and silhouetted trees create a sense of calm, reflecting the tranquil character of the coastline.
Printed on wood, the natural surface introduces warmth and texture, enhancing the depth of color and reinforcing the organic quality of the environment.
This one-of-a-kind original artwork has been collected and is now part of a private collection. It will not be reproduced in this format.
