ASL Art Description

Sunset in Four follows one sunset changing over two hours through four original paintings. I chose four panels because one painting could not hold the complete transition I witnessed in the sky.

Each painting captures a different stage, with its own colors, light, and mood. Golden Sunset, Blue Sunset, Pink Sunset, and Twilight Sunset move from the warmth of daylight toward the last orange glow before night.

As a Deaf artist, I approach this work through visual language, using color, rhythm, and movement to express the gradual passage of time. Precise horizontal lines create continuity across the four panels, while the repeating palm tree connects each changing moment.

The paintings were created alongside the video art Sunset in Four. Each original holds one stage of the sunset, while the video brings the four moments together as one unfolding visual experience.

A QR code on the back of each artwork and on the Certificate of Authenticity provides ongoing access to the video art and ASL art description.

This is a one-of-a-kind complete set of four original artworks. Once collected, it will not be reproduced in this format.

The complete set is available only while all four original paintings remain uncollected. Availability is subject to confirmation.

ASL Art Description

Sunset in Four brings four stages of one changing sunset together within a single composition. Each image carries its own colors, light, and mood, moving from the warmth of daylight toward the final orange glow before night.

Golden Sunset, Blue Sunset, Pink Sunset, and Twilight Sunset appear in sequence as four connected moments. Repeating palm trees and precise horizontal lines create continuity, while the shifting position of the sun gives the composition a sense of time and movement.

As a Deaf artist, I approach the work through visual language. Color, repetition, rhythm, and movement communicate the gradual transition of the sky without relying on sound.

This fine art print is based on the four original 8 × 8-inch wood-panel paintings created alongside the video art Sunset in Four. The print presents the complete sunset progression as one unified visual experience.

The artwork is printed as a 12 × 12-inch image on 16 × 16-inch museum-quality, 100% cotton, acid-free fine art paper with a smooth matte finish. The surrounding white border provides space for presentation and framing. Each print is produced to archival standards and signed by the artist.

The four one-of-a-kind original paintings may also be available individually or as a complete set.
