Turquoise Community: Support captures a moment of care, protection, and connection through bold color and simplified form. A central figure holds a child while another stands close, forming a unified presence that reflects strength within community.

As one of the central works within the Turquoise Community series, this piece reflects the foundational role of support in building connection, trust, and belonging. The series explores shared human experience through visual language and color, and as a Deaf artist, I express these ideas through gesture, composition, and contrast—communicating meaning without sound.

The composition moves from a structured gray background into layered fields of color, creating a transition from distance to intimacy. Yellow introduces warmth and optimism, purple suggests loyalty, and pink conveys care and affection. Together, these elements form a visual system rooted in emotional connection and stability.

The turquoise glove serves as a defining element within the series, symbolizing protection, intention, and identity. It reflects how communication and shared understanding create a sense of safety and belonging within a community.
