Every exhibition feels different.

Some are quiet. Others are deeply personal. Pop Culture Remix reminds me that art can also be playful.

When I first learned about this exhibition, I immediately thought about how pop culture has shaped all of us. Comic books, music, movies, toys, advertising, bold colors, and familiar symbols become part of our memories. Artists take those shared experiences and transform them into something new.

That’s why I’m excited to have my artwork, Magenta Glow, included in this exhibition at Sparks Gallery.

One of the things I enjoy most about an opening reception isn’t simply seeing my artwork on the wall. It’s watching people stop, smile, ask questions, and connect with the work in their own way. Every conversation is different, and I always leave inspired by perspectives I never would have imagined.

On Saturday, August 15, Sparks Gallery will host its annual Art Party, turning the gallery into a lively celebration of contemporary pop art. Along with the exhibition, there will be interactive art experiences, food, drinks, and an opportunity to meet artists, collectors, and San Diego’s creative community.
