August in Motion: A Month of Art Across San Diego

August has been a month filled with art, movement, and connection across San Diego.
The momentum began at the end of July when I presented at San Diego Comic-Con. Sharing my artwork and creative journey with the audience was a meaningful experience, and I recently released a video capturing that moment.
That energy continued throughout August as my artwork appeared in several locations across San Diego. Each setting created a different opportunity for people to encounter the work and connect with its story.
San Diego Comic-Con
At San Diego Comic-Con, I shared part of my creative journey—from knowing that I wanted to become an artist at eight years old to finding an audience online, developing my own visual language, and bringing the work to an international stage.
My advice to artists and creators is simple: stay hungry, follow your curiosity, and do not hide the work you feel called to make. Put it into the world—you never know where it may take you.
Pop Culture Remix at Sparks Gallery
My artwork Magenta Glow was selected for Pop Culture Remix at Sparks Gallery. It was wonderful to attend the Art Party, meet other artists and visitors, and see the many interpretations of popular culture presented throughout the exhibition.

Art at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters
Throughout August, a collection of my San Diego-inspired fine art prints was displayed at Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in La Jolla.
Showing artwork in a neighborhood space creates a different kind of experience. People can discover art during their everyday routines—while meeting a friend, enjoying coffee, or spending time in the community.
The Space Between Words
My installation The Art of Conversation continues to be part of The Space Between Words at UC San Diego Park & Market.
This exhibition explores how language, identity, and human connection can exist beyond spoken words. My installation includes 48 individual panels that come together as one larger conversation shaped by color, movement, and American Sign Language.

San Diego in Motion at Gallery 21
August concluded with the opening of my solo exhibition, San Diego in Motion, at Gallery 21 in Spanish Village Art Center at Balboa Park.
This exhibition brings together artwork inspired by the places, colors, rhythms, and moments that have shaped my life in San Diego. It also includes newly revealed work, including Golden Balboa and Sunset in Four.
Thank you to everyone who attended the reception on August 29, visited the gallery, shared the exhibition, or supported my work from a distance. It means a great deal to see people connect with these artworks and bring their own interpretations to them.

The Movement Continues
August reminded me that art does not remain in one place. It moves between neighborhoods, galleries, communities, memories, and conversations.
From Comic-Con to La Jolla, downtown San Diego, and Balboa Park, each experience became part of a larger story.
San Diego in Motion continues at Gallery 21 through September 7. If you have not visited yet, I hope you will stop by before the exhibition closes.
